Nice trinket dish or bowl. Noritake Small Bowl 1940s Trinket Dish Japan Hand Painted Floral Gold Handles.  I would not use it for placing your coins in it might damage the beautiful chain.  I know the dish is  the correct size (small)  for coin beacuase most people don't have loose coins anymore!
