New CD , Polish release

2019 was the Year of Stanisław Moniuszko in Poland. Kasia Moś celebrated the memory of the composer by giving an unforgettable concert in the NOSPR hall in Katowice.

A record of this unique event appears on the album "Moniuszko 200" accompanied by one of the best chamber orchestras in Europe - the Tychy City Chamber Orchestra AUKSO conducted by Marek Mos.

The album consists of a CD and DVD in a concert version.

Mateusz Moś (violin, brother of Kasia) and Mateusz Kołakowski (piano) are responsible for the musical layer and arrangement.

In addition to the orchestra and singer, Kasia's musicians also appeared on stage: Mateusz Kołakowski (piano, keyboards), Mateusz Moś (violin, vocals) Maciej Magnuski (bass guitar, Moog bass synthesizer) and Tomasz Mądziezielewski (drums).

The artists prepared amazing interpretations of works by Stanisław Moniuszko for the concert. The uniqueness lies primarily in the fact that they gave the compositions a very contemporary touch, using for example Moog synthesizers or electric violins, and stylistically oscillating sometimes around Indian climates, sometimes moving towards electronic music, and sometimes catching to some extent the work of Sting or Alicia Keys.

The effect? Striking! The audience gathered on a December evening in Katowice had the opportunity to experience the great transformation of Stanisław Moniuszko's works to the contemporary dimension without harming the climate and, above all, the composer's brilliant melodies. You can see that this is not an exaggerated opinion by listening, for example, to the sensational performance of the immortal "Bucket", which currently has over 2 million views on the artist's YouTube channel.

Kasia Moś, a graduate of the Jazz and Entertainment Music Department at the Academy of Music in Katowice, her ensemble and the AUKSO orchestra have created a wonderful work that should be a model of how music from the old years is translated into a more contemporary language.
