This method is intended for those who want to learn to play the Bandoneon and have no musical knowledge or
have gone through prior learning experiences of this instrument. Also meant for those who start from the basics
by acquiring the knowledge and skills needed to understand and play music with the bandoneon.
This approach also incorporates the necessary first steps to reading music along with the education of the
instrument. Keep in mind that the bandoneon is a relatively new musical instrument that has been around for
less than 150 years! There is not enough written educational material.
Although, there are already some methods available to play the bandoneon, they are generally focused on learning the notes
and the technical part of the instrument, but to read them you need to know about music.
This method is an approach that is complemented with some of these books. It starts from the basics with all the
elements needed to move ahead both in the musical knowledge as well as in the proper use of the instrument
itself. The versatility of the bandoneon is very wide and while it has fused with many types of music such as
folklore, chamamé, baroque music and others, it is mainly used in TANGO.
This method is mainly applied to tango. All musical examples are related to tango and one of the objectives of
this book is learning to play the Argentine Tango with Bandoneon.
The guide comes with a CD with musical examples that you can listen on an Mp3 with corresponding examples
and perform the exercises in the book.
The process is divided into levels and this is the basic to intermediate which is followed by the intermediate
and advanced.
