Difference between Polarized Lenses & UV Protection

Polarized lenses contain a special coating which will help eliminate or reduce glare from sunlight and light reflecting off surfaces such as water. Polarized lenses sometimes include UV protection. UV400 protection will effectively provide nearly 100% protection from harmful UVA light and UVB rays up to 400 nanometers. Exposure to UV light can put you at risk of developing cataracts, macular degeneration, photokeratitis (snow blindness) or even eye cancers that can lead to permanent blindness. You should always wear sunglasses outdoors between the hours of 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. when UV rays are nearly doubled.
