How to use/consume Pine Needles:

Infusion/Tea Recipe 1: 
Boil water in a pan, (enough to cover the needles). When the water has boiled take off the heat and add pine needles to the water, approx 2/3 tablespoons. Leave to steep for 20mins with a lid on the pan. Strain and serve. Add honey if you prefer a little sweetness.

Infusion/Tea Recipe 2:
Put 1 tablespoon of pine needles in a pan, cover the needles with boiling water, allow to simmer for 5 minutes, strain and serve, add honey or lemon if required.

Infusion/Tea Recipe 3:
Bring water to a boil, add pine needles and reduce to the lowest heat. (approx 2 - 5 grams per cup depending on potency required), very low simmer for 20 minutes and remove from heat. Leave to cool and drink or cover and let sit overnight to continue steeping. Strain out pine needles, if required, sweeten to taste, then serve tea hot or cold. It's important to have a very low simmer and not to boil the pine needles in order to preserve the vitamin C.

Infusion/Tea Recipe 4:
For optimal results, place 2-3g in blender with hot water, blend until ground and let steep for 10 mins. Steeping/filtering afterwards is recommended. Steeping overnight is also a good option for Pine Needle to ensure everything is released.

Tincture Recipe:
Place 2 glasses/cups of pine needles in an airtight jar, pour with 2 glasses of vodka and 1 glass of water. Close the jar tightly and put in a dark and cool place for 1 week, shake daily. After a week try the tincuture and add as much sugar/honey you want for the taste of your desire. Close the jar again and set is aside in a cool place. After a month, pour the tincture into bottles.

# footbath – add a cup of needles to 5 litres of boiling water. Allow to cool for 20 minutes, then strain off solution for a refreshing, deodorising foot soak
# air fresheners – fill an old stocking with dried pine needles and knot the end. Put stocking in wardrobes, clothes drawers and cars to eliminate odours
# flavouring vinegars and oils – add half a cup of pine needles to apple cider vinegar or olive oil. Leave for 1 month then strain
# seasoning for meat and fish – spread dried pine needles over charcoal on the barbeque. The smoke will infuse meat or fish to give a refreshing herbal flavour
# cleaning solution – boil half a cup of pine needles in 1 litre of water for 10 minutes. Strain the solution and add 1 tablespoon of vinegar and 1 tablespoon of bicarbonate of soda to the solution. Pour the mixture into a spray bottle to clean worktops and floors
# add pine needles between rows of vegetable beds to reduce slugs
# add a layer of pine needles to the surface of soil to conserve moisture, improve the fertility and health of the soil, reduce weed growth and enhance the appearance of the garden
# firestarters – dry the pine needles and bundle together with thread. Use with kindling to help start your fire
# fill outdoor pillows – use thick all weather fabric cushion covers and stuff them with pine needles

Recommended daily dosage:

1 - 2 cups of tea/infusion per day.

Do NOT use in very young children!
Do NOT try pine needle tea if you are pregnant!
For first time use recommended only about half a cup in the beginning to exclude pine allergies!

What does pine needle herbal tea taste like?

Pine needle tea has a pleasant taste and smell. While you'd expect pine needle tea to taste bitter or intense, it's actually quite subtle. It's aromatic, like a pine tree, but it has really subtle citrus notes.

How to store loose Pine Needles:

In dry, ventilated, cool and dark places in tightly closed packages.
This product is packaged in airtight stand-up, resealable doy-pack for optimum freshness.
Once opened, just push the air out of the doy-pack before resealing it in order to preserve maximum potency.
An opened product package can be contaminated with foreign substances, molds and others by air contact and worms. ALWAYS close and seal the package tightly again as soon as possible.
