Product description

Four volume set of classic comedy from Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy, comprising four feature-length films and a collection of shorts. In 'The Bohemian Girl' (1936), the duo star as members of a gypsy band who arrive at the estate of Count Arnheim (William P.Carleton). When Ollie's wife (Mae Busch) has an affair behind his back, her lover (Antonio Moreno) is caught and flogged by Arnheim's guards. She kidnaps the Count's daughter, Arline (Darla Hood), as an act of revenge, only to run away with her paramour leaving Stan and Ollie holding the baby... literally. Twelve years later the gypsies are back in the area, and Arline (played as an adult by Julie Bishop), unaware of her true parentage, ventures into the Count's castle... 'Saps at Sea' (1940), Laurel and Hardy's last film for Hal Roach, is a likely tale involving a goat, a boat and an escaped murderer (Richard Cramer). In the middle of it all is Ollie, struggling to recover from the stress brought on by his job as a tester in a horn factory. In 'Swiss Miss' (1938), Stan and Ollie are forced to work in a Swiss hotel after their mousetrap business goes bust. Ollie falls in love with a chambermaid (Della Lind), who turns out to be an opera-star spying on her long-suffering husband (Walter Woolf King). Finally, in 'Way Out West' (1937), the duo find themselves in another fine mess when they bungle the delivery of a goldmine deed to Mary Roberts (Rosina Lawrence). Duped by the saloon-owner into giving the deed away, the comedy duo set about restoring it to its rightful owner.
