The Afghanistan 1,000 Afghanis Banknote from 1991 features the Blue Mosque in Mazari Sharif. The bank seal with horsemen, cornucopia, and ancient coins with birds flying around the Mosque is printed on the front design. The reverse side features a monument to the fallen Afghan soldiers in the Wars of Independence and the Victory Arch in Paghman Gardens near Kabul. The banknote is 163 x 70 mm in size and is equipped with a solid security thread, a 1.0-mm wide security thread to enhance its security features.
