Henry Dieckmann was born in Verden,
Germany in 1933.
After World War II, Henry worked at the German
Federal Railroad factory in Verden, In his spare time he used to watch life on
the farm. Dieckmann is an autodidact and it is easy to notice that his work is
affected from the memories of his life during the past century. His work is a
nostalgic touch of a simple life, non-technologic, that induces in the viewer a
longing for the recent past. Henry's paintings illustrate the daily life of
common people in their free time with typical Parisian city landscapes.
