This uncirculated 500 Kenyan shilling note is part of the 2003-2010 family of banknotes issued by the Central Bank of Kenya. The note measures 147 mm long and 78 mm wide. An old portrait of the first president of KenyaMzee Jomo Kenyatta, a lion, Mount Kenya, and the Coat of Arms are all featured on the obverse side. The Parliamentary mace, a shield and spears, and a view of the Parliament building and clock tower in Nairobi are depicted on the reverse side. Security features include an elephant registration device, windowed security thread with demetalized CBK500, a lion head watermark, an electrotype 500 watermark, and Cornerstones.
