This is an appealing less common 1904-P VAM-5A (Doubled profile & ear) Morgan.  Only 2.8 million of these were minted.  This last year of the long Morgan run before the 17 year hiatus at the Philadelphia Mint was not spectacular.  The mint employees seemed to have become indifferent to their quality and most specimens had poor luster and weak strike right off the press.  This is a typical example. The strike is a bit weak and the already subdued breast feathers of the C-4 reverse are weak.  There are some bag marks as well as other lighter handling marks.  There is some extremely light wear on the high points, but not enough to say the coin entered general circulation.  It appears to have been poorly handled and stored in the intervening years instead, knocking it down to the highest About Uncirculated grade.  The original "orange-peel" mint luster is complete and cartwheel is excellent.  There is light beige toning on both sides.  I see no evidence of cleaning.   Please review the photos and scans carefully to determine condition and value for yourself.  As of 5/3/22, PCGS price guide has same grade coins at $120 & Greysheet CPG is $128 holding steady. (As of 4/1/22).
