Dragon Peacock symbol of the Persian Sasanian DynastyThus, the connection between Tawsi Melek and Mithra is undeniable, however the Peacock Angel’s most salient Persian counterpart is the primal bird of paradise, the Simurgh, who possesses a dog or dragon head and a huge peacock tail. The Simurgh lives on Mount Elbourz, the primal sacred mountain at the center of the Earth that serves as an axis mundi uniting Heaven and Earth. Elbourz is, by the way, also said to be the worldly home of Mithra, so perhaps the Simurgh is one of his alternate forms. This beautiful symbolic sculpture is astonishing and admirable, each details on this art piece is to love, you cant miss every fine line crafted into the skin of the Dragon. His beautiful peacock tail can also be used as a little vase, candle or even incense burner. This very fine and unique sculpture and it was casted using the ancient old ""Lost Wax Method"" stained in brown patina finish for preservation. He is crafted over a detailed base with lettering and mounted atop a beautiful black marble base. 100% handmade and 100% bronze, signed by the artist Perspolis.
