About the artist:

Brigitte Tietze was a student at the Academy of Fine Arts in Berlin. After her state examination, she became a master student with Professor Ernst Schumacher. Her works were then shown in numerous exhibitions. She was a prizewinner of the Karl Hofer Society. This award was linked to the purchase of paintings and helped her artistic work to gain financial recognition early on. A grant from the Institut Français de Berlin took her to Paris for a year. She later benefited from the artist emergency program - the Berlin Senate bought several of her paintings. She later bought most of them back. Brigitte Tietze lived and worked as a freelance artist in Berlin. Her extensive oeuvre is of high quality and ranges from still lifes, landscapes and cityscapes to figure paintings, nudes and portraits.
