Item is new old stock. Sells under Symmetricom Part Number 58539A.
Description
The FCC-250B-90-1.5-NFNF is designed to protect 1.45 – 1.6 GHz RF
equipment from switching, lightning and electromagnetic pulse threats.
It is designed to protect transmitters up to 10 watts of output power.
This suppressor is constructed from proven connector, transmission line
and gas discharge components.
It is capable of dissipating 10,000 ampere transients having an 8
μsecond rise time, and 20 μsecond half amplitude duration. The gas
discharge tube can sustain several hundred of these transients if the
time period between transients is suffi cient to let the tube cool. It
is estimated that the tube will survive transients while dissipating
25,000 amperes. The DC breakdown or slow rising transients clamping
voltage is 90 volts.
The nominal VSWR of this suppressor is 1.6:1 from 1.5 – 1.6 GHz. The
insertion loss is nominally less than 0.25 dB over this frequency range.
The design utilizes a short section of transmission line from input to
output (DC path exists) for the center conductor, minimizing the
phase shift experienced. The inner cavity of each suppressor is
encapsulated with a lightweight, high temperature, low loss dielectric
material that provides additional mechanical stability during shock and
vibration.
The gas discharge tube utilized exhibit excellent linearity for RF
signals. The twotone third order intermodulation intercept point has
been measured in excess of +80 dbm.
The structure of the housing is brass, which is plated with a fused
bright tin. The plating is in conformance with MIL-T-10727. This
construction and plating ensures years of lasting performance, since the
oxides of tin are conductive; grounding is always maintained even in a
corrosive salt-spray environment.
This suppressor has been designed to withstand harsh environmental
requirements. The gas tube will meet MIL-STD-202. The construction
methods have been tested and demonstrate compliance to the following
portions of MIL-STD-810C.
