DESCRIPTION

These (5) "ARC" Chips (Auto Resetting Chips), are compatible with all Canon PGI-5 and

CLI-8 Cartridges. The chips are brand new and have never been used.

The chips are also enclosed in their own labeled storage bags so they don't get mixed up.

(It's important to only place the specified chip to the specified cartridge it was programed for)

These are an aftermarket compatible chip set for Canon PGI-5 and CLI-8 cartridges, which

can be installed on any Canon PGI-5 or CLI-8 cartridge … and will always allow your printer

to recognize the cartridge as "FULL".


Installation of these chips is easy

1.  Using the enclosed "Loctite Mounting Putty" … simply make a very tiny small ball of mounting putty.

2.  Remove any Genuine Canon Chips from the cartridges *slicing off the tips of the chip mounting posts
3.  Then place the mounting putty in the cartridge "cavity" directly underneath the new "ARC" chip …
4.  Press the new chip onto the original cartridge mounting posts (2), and onto the mounting putty.
5.  Then finally press the "ARC" chip firmly onto the ink cartridge, squishing the mounting putty
     underneath the new chip … making the new chip on the cartridge, as flush to the ink cartridge as  
     the the original Canon  chips were.

6.  That's it …. now install the cartridge, fill the cartridge fully, check the Canon Printer utility program 
     to verify the cartridge is fully filled …. and yout DONE !!

Why do I need an "ARC" chip (Auto-Resetting Chip), for the Canon PGI-5 and CLI-8 cartridges?

Canon has made the PGI-5 and CLI-8 cartridges dependent on the cartridge chips.

Normally, when you run out of ink on your Canon PGI-5 or CLI-8 cartridge(s), the printer reads a

message from the chip that says the cartridge is "ink empty". This causes the printer to show you

error signals until you replace the cartridge.

Now, you can reuse your Canon PGI-5 and CLI-8 cartridges (or after-market Canon compatible

refillable cartridges), by simply adding these new "ARC" chips to your cartridges.

The new installed "ARC" chips will then be recognized by your printer as "Full Ink". This allows

you to print with your refilled cartridge, always just leaving the cartridge in the printer.

With the "ARC" chips you then simply routinely fill your cartridges with Canon compatible inks

(of your preference now), or check the Canon printer utility "Ink Levels" for reference.

You can now leave the cartridge in the printer, and by using the "cartridge refill hole", fill the

cartridge on a regular basis, without removing the cartridges all the time!

AVAILABILITY NOTE:  At this time of eBay posting (and over the past year or so), these "ARC"

chips have been hard to locate, due to chip manufacturing supply chain issues overseas.
