Post Civil war leather equipment case/ box possibly to worn on a belt .has split rivets: (not used until1870) I believe. Came with a group of civil war era leather items ,including a real confederate belt and buckle rig . Might be a rare accoutrement box. No idea what it was used for and no markings that I see .Leather is a very dark brown with embossed edges.  6 inches in length and 2 1/2 inches side depth. A little over 2 1/4 in width. Has compartments inside, so not for a large whistle. Any ideas welcome.
