What is the role of filter drier in refrigerator refrigeration system?
 
The filter drier is a device that has the dual functions of adsorbing moisture and filtering the refrigerant. Its function is to filter the tangible dust carried in the process of refrigerant flow and the residual moisture in the adsorption refrigeration system, so that the refrigerator refrigeration system does not have "dirty blockage" and "ice blockage" failures.
The filter drier structure used in the refrigeration system of the refrigerator is equipped with a 120-200 mesh copper wire mesh inside and a desiccant is installed in the middle.

The molecular sieve in the filter drier is generally molded into a small spherical shape with a binder. Its crystal gap is about 0.4nm, which can adsorb water molecules with a diameter of 0.170.38nm, and refrigerant molecules and frozen lubricants with a molecular diameter greater than 0.4nm Molecules cannot be adsorbed, so different molecular sieves can be used to screen substances of different diameters. This is why synthetic zeolite is called molecular sieves.
Each gram of molecular sieve can absorb 160-200mg of water. A dry filter contains about 10g of molecular sieve, which can generally absorb 1.6-2g of water.
 
Filter drier selection requirements:
 
The molecular diameter of the refrigerant is larger than the molecular diameter of the desiccant and the diameter of the water molecule. That is to say, the filter pore size of the molecular sieve desiccant is larger than the diameter of the water molecule, but smaller than the molecular diameter of the refrigerant and engine oil.
Requirements of R134A: R134A is insoluble in mineral oil, it uses ester oil. Compared with R12 refrigerant, it is non-toxic, non-flammable and environmentally friendly. Thermal performance is close to r12. Disadvantages: Easy to absorb water, which requires higher water and system cleanliness. . It is required to choose XH-7 or XH-9 dry filter. While the conventional filter absorbs water, it also absorbs part of the 134A refrigerant molecules. Therefore, special desiccants must be used for freezers that use 134A refrigerant. The filter pore size of 134A refrigerant desiccant is smaller than that of R12.
