Description: 18th century antique map of the Nassau region in West Germany between Koblenz, Hadamard, Giessen, Frankfurt and Mainz.
The pictorial coat of arms cartouche contains cherubs with six coats of arms, and an explanation table below with miles scale.

The Schenk maps were combined in different atlases, but also colored on request and sold separately.

Mapmaker: Peter Schenk the Younger.
He was the son of the engraver and map publisher Peter Schenk the Elder who owned a shop in Leipzig and travelled regularly between there and Amsterdam in the 17th century.

The engraver and map publisher Peter Schenk the older was born in 1660 in Elberfeld.
He moved to Amsterdam in 1675 and became a student of Gerard Valck specializing in mezzotint.
