Su-31, SU-31 - aerobatic aircraft developed by the Sukhoi Design Bureau.
The Su-31 is a development of the Su-26M aircraft using solutions developed during the development of the Su-29.
The aircraft made its first flight in June 1992, and in July of the same year it made its debut at the World Aerobatics Championship in Le Havre (France). For the first time, the Su-31 was demonstrated at the Farnborough-92 aerospace exhibition, then at all major air shows.
By reducing the weight and installing a more powerful engine, the aircraft is easy to fly and can perform complex sports figures. The three-blade propeller allows the aircraft to develop greater speed during flight and increases the rate of ascent. Since 1994, the Russian national aerobatics team has been very successful on these aircraft at the European and World Championships. In the very first world championship, in which the Su-31 took part, the aircraft took third place and distinguished itself by aerobatics, which are not available for similar machines. With the help of this aircraft, many gold and silver medals were won in various world competitions.
Produced until 1997. Currently, the production of aircraft of this type has been discontinued.
