White willow contains natural salicylic acid, from which Aspirin, or acetylsalicylic acid, was created. You can use White Willow for almost everything that you might use ASA for. The same contra-indications are in effect, however, so any drugs that you are currently taking that should not be taken with Aspirin should also not be taken with White Willow, as an overdose is more likely. Use in persons with sensitivity to aspirin or other salicylate-containing drugs is cautioned. Use in persons with glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase (G6PD) deficiency is cautioned.
