Kaman HH-43 Huskie is an American multi-purpose helicopter produced by Kaman Aircraft. It is made according to the synchropter scheme. It was used from the 1950s to the 1970s for search and rescue operations, as well as a fire helicopter. It was produced in more than ten modifications. The main operators are the Air Force and the US Navy. It was exported to Burma, Colombia, Iran, Morocco, Thailand, Pakistan.
The helicopter has a synchropter diagram - with crossing axes of the load -bearing screws. The general and cyclic step of the screws was controlled by servo -closes on the blades, which allowed the exclusion of the skew, hydraulic amplifiers and very simplified the design of the screw's sleeve. Wooden blades. The first models of the helicopter were equipped with a piston engine, later it was replaced by a gas turbine (HH-43B and F models). It is equipped with a cargo-passenger cabin-in search and rescue or transportation.
The first flight of the prototype was committed in 1947. Serial production - since 1950, about 400 cars in various modifications have been produced in total. The helicopter was used in search and rescue operations, including during the Vietnamese War. In the early 1970s, he was disabled.
