18TH CENTURY DUTCH BRASS ENGRAVED ADAM & EVE SCENE TOBACCO BOX
Period: 18th Century.
Materials: Brass.
Dimensions: 180mm wide x 50mm long x 32mm deep.
Makers marks: Unmarked.
Condition: The engraved decoration is very worn. Some splits around the edges of the top and old repair to the right hand hinge. Minor dings, rubbing and surface scratching. Wear commensurate with its age.
Notes: An interesting 18th century Dutch brass tobacco box, decorated with scenes depicting Adam and Eve and the sides inscribed with the Dutch words "Verlaat de wereld" which translates to "Leave the world".
