Here is a Godey's Ladies Book Fashion plate. "Godey's Fashions for May 1870." Kimmel & Forster N.Y.
They were hand colored engravings that appeared in their magazines. The pictures provided information for seamstresses, dressmakers and home sewers as they were the latest fashion trends of the time.
These plates are highly collectible, especially in this excellent condition.
