ZIS-150 (from June 26, 1956 - ZIL-150) - Soviet medium-duty truck, produced from 1947 to 1957 (abroad - until 1986). He was the ancestor of the second generation of ZIS / ZIL vehicles.

In 1957, it was replaced by the ZIL-164 model, which was a modernized ZIS-150. 771,883 copies of all modifications were produced. In Romania, production continued until 1960, and in China until 1986.

The ZIS-150 truck was supposed to replace the ZIS-5 back in the late 1930s. In 1938, the Stalin Plant built prototypes of a truck, called the ZIS-15. This car was distinguished by a three-seat all-metal cabin, a modernized engine with a capacity of 82 liters. with., new frame. However, the Great Patriotic War delayed the launch of the model for a long time. Only in 1944, at the Stalin Plant, new truck samples were manufactured, which received the ZIS-150 index, with front lining, outwardly very similar to the American International Harvester K-7.

On October 30, 1947, an initial batch of ZIS-150 trucks was produced. Since even pre-war tests showed insufficient engine power, on a production car, the power was increased to 95 hp. In the design of the ZIS-150, for the first time in the history of the Soviet automotive industry, a five-speed gearbox with constant mesh gears and a pneumatic brake drive were used. Carrying capacity increased from three to four tons. The car received a new cabin (due to the large shortage of thin steel sheets in the country, it was wood-metal: the front plumage was steel, the doors were wooden) with an efficient heating system and sliding door windows. The windshield (since December 1949) consisted of two halves, the left half was made lifting: it was fixed in any position using a rocker mechanism.

The plant completely switched to the production of a new model on April 27, 1948, and before that, while a new conveyor was being installed from January 1948, the production of the ZIS-5 continued (until April 30, 1948). In May 1949, all-metal cabs began to be installed on cars (the last wood-metal ones were made on September 5). In 1950, the car underwent modernization: the carburetor and intake manifold, bumper were replaced. Since 1953, sidelights were attached not to the upper part of the wings, but to the headlights, and yellow and red reflectors appeared on the cargo platform. Since 1955, the car was equipped with direction indicators.
