Matching 6.5" snare!

Extremely rare wrap for the Gretsch NCM line.

Only one tiny 3-4 mm blemish on the floor tom, hardly noticeable. I have circled it in red in the last 3 photos before the charts. This is very difficult to photograph, so I took 3 shots from different angles. Other things that may look like defects are just reflections. The location of this blemish is on the back side of the drum, where one would usually hang a stick bag.

The other blemish is in the silver sealer inside the bass drum, which can easily be sprayed over.

This sale is for the shells only, no hardware. Exception: 3 Floor Tom legs and ITS suspension mount on rack tom.

The Gretsch New Classic 2012 LTD 4-piece Shell Pack includes an 18" x 22" kick drum, an 8" x 12" rack tom, a 14" x 16" floor tom, and a 6.5" x 14" snare drum. The kick is 8-ply, the toms are 6-ply, and the snare is 10-ply. All the drums sport a stunning Delmar wrap finish that looks great under stage lights.

Evaluation:

Shells:
Generally, MINT condition, bearing edges all consistent and true.

Wrap:
MINT condition, no scuffs or blemishes other than the 2 identified above as far as I can see. No pealing, no separation at seams, and no expansion and separation (glue failure) from shells anywhere. I examined every inch of wrap on all the shells.

Hardware:
MINT condition, no pitting, flaking or chipped chrome plating. Could use an overall waxing for protection. 

Tension rods and lugs:
MINT condition.

Bass Drum Hoops:
Excellent to MINT condition.

Rims:
MINT condition.

Heads:
All heads are aged with little use. There are areas where some of the coating has come off. I can assume these are the original heads that shipped with this kit.
Bass: Evans EMAD, coated batter with muffling ring. Reso with Gretsch logo, I assume is also Evans.
Snare: Evans G1 Level 360, coated batter. Snare head is Evans 300 Hazy.
Toms: Evans G2, coated batter. Resos are Evans G1, coated. 

Overall Assessment:
Near MINT condition.

Gretsch drums, especially the New Classic Maple (NCM) play, sound and look AMAZING!

Gretsch has been producing high quality drums since 1883 and their New Classic Maple (NCM) line is no exception. They feature all maple shells, die cast hoops (on toms and snare drum) and their trademark silver inner shell sealant. The special classic dual post tube lugs are even exact replicas of the original Billy Gladstone design from the 1930s.

In addition to their drums, Gretsch has a reputation for their fine string instruments.

A Gretsch factoid: Many well known, famous drummers play the kits they use on stage, whether Ludwig, Tama, DW, Pearl, etc..., because of their product endorsement agreements, but when the time comes to actually lay down tracks in the studio, most prefer doing it on a Gretsch. They know "That Great Gretsch Sound" sings out, and produces that balanced tone requiring very little to no EQ adjustments on the recording console, practically no signal processing required.

In addition to its neoclassical aesthetics, Gretsch created the NCM line to give drummers access to the same build quality, sonic result, and playability as with their Brooklyn, USA Custom, and Renown lines, but at half the cost. The downside was that Gretsch was losing revenue and thus, ceased NCM production in 2017 making the NCM line a collector's dream. The upside is that unlike the above mentioned lines, the NCM has that 1930s classic tube lug style, but post 2000, hence, the name New - Classic.

Because Gretsch is no longer producing the NCM line they are extremely hard to find and especially in this condition. Other Gretsch NCM drums I've seen for sale are usually all banged up. This one is in near MINT condition. Sure, you can spend less money on far less quality but you won't get that great Gretsch sound, the playability or the classic lugs.

Better snap up this special, rare, NCM shell pack while you still can because if you don't, we're sure someone else will.

This shell pack will be professionally packed in several boxes with foam peanuts all around and shipped out within a few business days of the funds clearing. I may also nestle all the drums within each other if possible, as to get them to fit in one big box. This may require some disassembly on my end which will require some assembly on your end, but it's pretty intuitive.

This shipment will be fully insured and will require an adult signature upon delivery.
