Beautiful antique and rare bronze medal of Sydenham "The English Hippocrates", 1624-1689. His first book was Methodus curandi fevers (How to cure fevers). Sydenham is known for the success of his treatment "expectant" of smallpox, by Láudano, and by the descriptions of acute corea (Dance of St. Vito), also designated as corea de Sydenham in his honor, and also of, mania and hysteria, which he considered a disease solely feminine. His form in man should be designated as hypochondria.
The medal has the number 82, only 400 were made.
The measures are : 8.5 cm x 6.5 cm x 0.4 mm (3.34 inches x 2.55 inches x 015 inches). Weighs : 212 grams (7.500 oz).
The condition is Excellent.
