Amazing beautiful antique and rare bronze medal with high reliefs of the 60th anniversary of the Portuguese football federation, 1914-1974, Made by the famous sculptor Vasco Berardo in 1973.
The Portuguese Football Federation is the governing body of football in Portugal, which organizes the Portuguese national football team and is based in Oeiras.
It was founded on March 31, 1914 under the name Portuguese Football Union, and later changed its name to the current designation. Founded on March 31, 1914 by the three then existing regional associations – Lisbon, Portalegre and Porto – the Portuguese Football Union was the predecessor of the current Portuguese Football Federation, which gained this name at the Extraordinary Congress of May 28, 1926.
In the first years of its existence, the UPF merely organized some meetings between the Lisbon and Porto teams, as well as to submit Portugal's candidacy to FIFA, an application that was accepted at the XII FIFA Congress, organized in Geneva in May 1923, and from which Portugal became an effective member of that body.
The medal has 9 cm (3.54 inches) diameter; 5 mm thickness; and weighs 259 grams.
