About Van Delft:

The foundation stone was laid back in 1880 when Jan van Delft took over his first bakery. At that time, the business was still travelling to customers by horse and cart, but it grew rapidly, so that the actual bakery gradually became the first factory of its own. Jan van Delft was also the first to introduce the format of the traditional pepernootjes as we know them to this day - this was the basis for his national success, which is still unbroken in the field of traditional Dutch bakery today.
