Browning M1919 (eng. Browning M1919) - a version of the Browning M1917 machine gun with barrel cooling.
The M1919 machine gun was adopted after World War II and adopted by the US Army in World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War.
By the beginning of 1945, based on an analysis of the combat operations of the ground forces in the European theater of operations, the command of the armed forces of the United States came to the conclusion that the M1919 machine guns with significant and water-cooled barrels were outdated and no longer completely reduced the need for portable infantry support weapons.
Since the early 1960s, after the adoption of the perfect single M60 machine gun, the Brownings began to gradually take measures for the needs of the army, although they were officially in service with the US Army until the 1970s.
A significant number of M1919 machine guns in the 1940-1970s were transferred by the United States to international countries under the military assistance program: in particular, in Japan, the Republic of China, South Korea, South Vietnam and Latin American countries.
