The letters “CD” in the name stand for Control Driver, putting the player in the driver’s seat and allowing you full control to manipulate and style the disc exactly how you want it to.

CD1 handles just about any wind condition with ease but is most well suited for tailwinds and calmer weather. The CD1 gives you the right amount of glide and shot shaping options, but will always maintain enough stability to end with a smooth low speed fade in the end. If you only had one disc to play a round with, this disc would be an excellent choice.

My Flight Ratings 9/5/-1/2Somewhat Beginner Friendly

My absolute favorite disc right now. This is my go-to forehand driver that I can consistently get to fly exactly as the flight numbers state. A little hyzer can make this fly dead straight, and it holds that line for almost the entire flight. A little anhyzer can flex around a tree before fading back onto the fairway. More hyzer and I can flip this almost to flat to hold a big high line before it fades out.

My CD2 is dead flat and feels amazing in the hand, especially for a forehand grip. S-line plastic is almost as good as K1 and much better than ESP. If you throw an Undertaker, find a CD2 and I'm sure you'll fall in love.

These are great for advanced players to shape a number of shots, but are also a great first "distance" driver for beginners.

This Disc is amazing in many ways. It is true to its flight numbers, and if you enjoy undertakers then this disc will just feel that much better, since the Ti plastic is much stiffer and champion undertakers just don't do the trick personally. S line is flexy and tacky but extremely durable, only slightly breaking in after a few months of wear. Highly recommend everyone try one of these!

Regarding dome, the specific one I bag is neutral to flat top, so flatten any dome using hot water and pressure!

I have two in S-line plastic about 170 grams. To me this disc is a solid reliable control driver that is a great fit in anyones bag. The CD2 has enough stability to keep it fighting mild head winds while still being able to hit consistent spots on the fairway. I've even used it for some decent wooded lines when needed. The rim is very comfortable with the great grip that s-line plastic provides. This thing can mash if given the right power, otherwise it can get pretty flippy, and turn and burn pretty quick. I would agree that the flight is very similar to a beat thunderbird. Great disc in my opinion.

The CD2 is an amazing straight line fairway driver. I can throw this as far as 11 speed discs with similar turn - fade ratios, and with more accuracy. Great grip! The s line plastic is amazing. The rim is absolutely perfect. Every time I throw it, I feel like I'm about to throw an ace. In addition to the CD2 I carry a TDx and they perfectly complement each other in size and feel. I go with a Raptor for more overstability, but for that straight narrow fairway, grab yourself a CD2 and thank me later.

My Flight Ratings 10/4/0.5/4Not Beginner Friendly

Previously had a swirly s-line from a friend, but threw it to the middle of a deep pond right when I was falling in love with the disc. It had a good turn, consistent fade, and great distance in my hands. Disc was a little soft and had a slightly waffled top, but felt good in the hand. I used it frequently and enjoyed it immensely.

So I bought a new s-line CD-2 replacement.

The new one could not be more different.

The disc has one of the biggest domes on it, and is extremely stable. I can barely get a little turn on a hyzer, and it really fades hard really soon. I have learned to like the disc and use it still, but I was displeased at the inconsistency between the two discs.

S-Line CD2 171 grams

I used to throw Thunderbirds and would always have the issue of having to really work them in to get them to fly the way I wanted them to.....then I tried the CD2. The glide on this disc is amazing!!! Feels great in hand with a more shallow feel than a Thunderbird. And this thing crushes!! easy turn with consistent fade to keep it in the fairway. Very trustworthy disc and able to put on many different lines. If you struggle with the Thunderbird give this thing a go. Easy distance with much less effort.

Awesome disc, I have a 165g S-line Cd2 and it is the farthest strait flying disc in my bag. I've thrown it 375 down hill, 275 up hill and 300+ barring user error every time. Very consistent disc for a backhand dominant player. Forehand throws result in an even straighter flight although I seldom throw forehand. All in all, the Cd2 is the best disc in my bag, very shapeable given some anny it will come back slowly and continue forward with an impressive dependable fade considering its 2 rating. Thrown with hyzer I can get it to pop up to flat and then slight anny getting a full flight out of it true to the -1 rating. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to step up to a 9 speed disc especially for second year RHBH players learning the sport.

I have the CD2 in S-Line plastic, and there is no better description of this disc than “Control Driver”. If you need 300 feet the old fashioned way without any frills or worries, grab the CD2. The S-Line plastic for me is right between Star and GStar, and that sure grip gives me confidence when I go to throw. I’ve probably had the least amount of drives go awry when throwing this. It’s that great middle ground of being super-throwable for someone looking for their first good distance driver, while not being too flippy for an experienced thrower. I can put a hair of anny on it and it’ll hold it for just the right amount of time before fighting out and not turning and burning. If I need distance but I’m torn between options, the CD2 will usually win because instead of being a 10/10 at any one thing it’s either a 7 or 8 at everything which is always going to be super useful in anyone’s bag.

CD2 175g S-Line.

The CD2 is one of my favorite drivers. It flies just like the ratings say. 9,5,-1,2. This really comes in handy when you need a fairly long drive with a low risk of throwing into the rough or out of bounds.

My max distance drive is 350 ft. with a Wraith, and 375 ft. with a Mamba. I can get the CD2 to throw in at around 325 ft. Though it doesn’t fly as far as a max distance driver like a Wraith or Destroyer, the CD2 will contain itself to a tighter line. This is useful when you’re throwing on fairways that are more constrained. You don’t have to worry about errant shots quite as much using the CD2.

The only thing you have to be careful about is overpowering this disc on tight fairways, which will cause it to turn more than you’d like. This has happened to me a a few times on tight fairways. The solution to this is to either power down a bit or put a bit of a hyzer on it.

I have one a Dana Vicich S Line CD2 and its safe to say this is a pretty neutral flying disc. If given some power and put on a slight hyzer it will pop up and glide with a slight finish at the end. I would place it somewhat as a slightly beat in thunderbird. I'm excited to see how it flies once it gets a bit more beat in!

My s-line flat top cd2 is a staple in my bag. Perfect for tunnel shots and big anhyzers with minimal fade. Also great for touch hyzer shots.

Fished this out of a river the other day, and I am so glad I rolled my pants up! Lucky for me, the disc had no name on it and the course has no drop box, so it's mine! First impression is how sweet of a disc it is! It is the swirly Davinci disc with the great stamp on it. The disc is a little heavy for me at 175, but I still got some great throws with it! I was throwing some really nice drives with it. I will need a bit of practice with it, but this is a great addition to my bag!

My Flight Ratings 9/5/-0.5/2Not Beginner Friendly

This is hands down the best speed 9 disc I've thrown. I throw backhand and forehand, and the Thunderbird never felt comfortable forehand. When looking for alternatives, I actually wanted something a little less stable and the S-Line CD2 is perfect. I bag a 164 S-Line and 165 G-Line. I use the G-Line for both forehand and backhand shots. The -1 turn really shows when throwing the G-Line, but the S-Line is pretty much dead straight with a decent amount of fade at the end of the flight. My home course is wooded and pretty forehand friendly, so I imagine I would use the S-Line for backhand hyzers on a more open course.

It glides better than the Thunderbird in my opinion, and the stability of the S-Line gives me confidence in really putting some power behind it. After practicing with these in the field, I had to buy a couple backups immediately. I wouldn't recommend this to a beginner, but it is a fantastic driver for an intermediate player. Once I can find some mid-160s C-Lines, you bet I'm picking up a couple of those.
