Antique Hand Painted Saxe Porcelain Trinket Keeper

This estate find is very rare. In my research, I was not able to find anything like it in Germany Saxe Porcelain.

Based on the mark on the underside of this unique and striking trinket keeper it is determined that this item was produced in the Bohemian studio of the Charles Ahrenfeldt Company in Altrohlau, Austria (now known as the Czech Republic). This Saxe porcelain company operated from 1886 – 1910, making this item a true Antique!

This trinket keeper was produced in the egg shape of a mandolin or lute. It is hand painted with delicate flowers in yellow, purple, pink, red, and orange. The edges are finished with pink scrolls and gold paint. The string portion of the lute are hand painted in gold detail.

This item measures 1 5/8” tall x 6” length x 2 ½” wide. It weights 3 oz. prior to packaging.

The trinket keeper is in good condition. The strings on the neck of the lute have faded. The lid appears to have been broken but repaired (see pictures). Otherwise, this piece is in remarkable condition considering its age.

This item will be insured at the time of shipment.
