This Hofner Model 161 Colorama was made in Germany in the early to mid 1960's. The guitar is a fun little single pickup guitar that plays and sounds good. The guitar is super light and weighs 4 LBS & 8 ounces. The body is very thin and comfortable to play. The guitar is in good shape for it's age but does show a fair amount of nicks, dings and scratches. The high E tuner is changed but the guitar is otherwise original to the best of my knowledge. The pickup sounds good and the electronics are all working, that said the switches on the guitar are very old and fragile and can't me handled roughly. The volume knob will spin round and round and the original set screw doesn't hold that well but if your gentle with it you can easily turn the volume up and down. (it will just keep spinning round and round if your force it).

The guitar is set up well and the action is low and comfortable. The bridge is quite primitive and if you play hard the string can slide out of their bridge slots. The guitar is a nice guitar for what it is but is quite old and the buyer should be aware of the limitations that come with a guitar like this.

Please look at the pictures and message with questions. The guitar comes with a gig bag and will be expertly packed for safe shipping.
