This fine antique George III English solid silver letter opener / meat skewer, in sterling standard, has a tapered form with a circular ring loop finger piece.

The surface of this fine example of Georgian silverware is plain and unembellished, apart from the featured hallmarks to the reverse.

This exceptional Georgian meat skewer was crafted by the renowned York silversmiths Robert Cattle and James Barber.

* The original use of this item was purely as a meat skewer.Due to its form, this piece may certainly be used as an effective letter opener.

Condition

This antiquesolid silver meat skewer is a superior gauge of silver for its type, exceptional quality and in exceptional presentation condition.

Full hallmarks struck to the reverse surface of the skewer are all very clear; the hallmarks are struck deeply due to the superior gauge of silver.
