A linguistic study book from the prestigious library of language scholar Johannes Rahder (1898-1988): Dutch Orientalist, professor of Japanese at the University of Leiden (1931-1946), and Yale University (1947-1965), and once depicted by legendary Langston Hughes in 'I Wonder, I Wander', as a "...famous authority on obscure Oriental languages", after a brief meeting on the Trans-Siberian Railway in 1933. His stamp and writing are in the margins throughout this folio. This 1960 text is a study of the Kapauku language, also known as Ekari, which a Trans-New Guinea language spoken in the Paniai Lakes region of the Indonesian Province of Papua.
