New Book , Polish release

Housing conditions in Poland are among the worst in the EU. The catalog of pathologies includes, among others, absurdly small square meters, terrible quality of buildings, fencing off housing estates, demolition of nature and monuments, or "wild re-privatisation". Developers in Poland are rarely concerned with meeting real housing needs, and the real estate market is shaped by the ruthless realities of capitalism and the lack of a real housing policy. What exactly is the infamous path-developer? Why are apartments in new buildings so expensive? And what surprises can be hidden behind the often used word "cozy"?

Urban planner Łukasz Drozda analyzes the situation on the Polish housing market, talks to specialists in this industry, and also looks for answers to the most important questions about housing problems in our country. At the same time, he outlines the landscape of contemporary Polish urbanization - from large cities, such as Warsaw, Krakow and Wrocław, to smaller ones, such as Siewierz and Żory. It shows that an inefficient system digs holes under itself, dragging the future of the next generations into them.
