Here is your TeeBird, Trilogy fans! I will say, every Explorer I have thrown starts a little less stable than a stock TeeBird, maybe closer to a TL. They hold this stability a long time and gradually work into a great flip-to-straight driver. These can cover a variety of shots, as all TB-clones do. Definitely my go-to fairway!

This is a great disc for beginners who want a straight flight and little fade. The opto plastice is my first choice every time for durability and grip.

The explorer is a very great, straight flying, with a little fade to the left disc. I have come to find though with a high mile per hour headwind, it does act as if it had a slight bit of turn but very little. A little hyzer when throwing will fix that problem in the wind. Otherwise it is definitely one of my most favorite and most used fairway drivers. The main reasoning as to why is simply because of how I can throw it and no matter how hard I do, it'll fly straight with a nice fade to the left. The fade is very predictable and consistent. I also enjoy throwing this desk on straight shots go to the ground knowing that it'll fade just very slightly right next to the basket. The feel of this disk is definitely comfortable for me, in a lot of ways it feels kind of like a five speed mid range but that's just my opinion, overall though I would definitely Recommend this desk to those who are just starting to get a consistent form with a little more arm speed, beginner should never use anything more than a putter if anything nothing more than mid range until they've gotten more consistent with a higher arm speed.

Like everyone else has said, this is a fantastic disc. It's got the same numbers as a Teebird but this thing glides further and has a more minimal fade.

It does tend to turn a bit in a headwind even with the Opto plastic. But with a bit of hyzer it fights just fine. Great disc.

I LOVE THIS DISC. It has quickly become my go-to "I don't know what to throw here...Explorer" disc. It is only a 7 speed, but is stable enough to where it's uncommon to accidentally flip it over. It flies almost exactly how I want it to all the time. It works well for both BH and FH, and I throw it a lot both ways. I highly recommend this disc.

This is an 174g up to explorer. This disc is pretty dokey in my and and pretty stiff, which I certainly don't mind at all. Personally this disc is no different than a teebird in my opinion,it has great glide, good stability, and no turn, just like all teebirds do. So if you are looking for a disc exactly like a teebird, but you are trilogy sponsored,or something. Check out the explorer,it's basically a teebird. You'll love it.

I got an Explorer from Infinite in opto chameleon and have been playing with it steadily for the last month. The disc was more stable than I thought brand new, but I have beat it in a bit and now it's a straight flying fairway driver that finishes hard left. I have been tossing it forehand a few times and I can crank on it more without the fear of it turning over. This is a fairway driver that can grow with you and I recommend grabbing one!

169g Opto:

Early impression of this disc is that it's essentially a teebird clone, possibly with a shade more glide. Super straight with a predictable fade. Excellent thumber for me as well, again just like the teebird. Not much more to say. Teebird is one of the best fairways ever produced and the explorer fits all the same shots!

This disc has the same flight ratings as a Teebird which you will find in a lot of pros bags. I bought the explorer because I liked the stamp better but I have found that I really like the opto plastic. Mine flew very overstable at first until I had beat it in a bit and now it is laser straight with a nice reliable fade at the end. IMO, a must have for every bag.

This thing is so easy to throw. Half power it glides like a dream to 275+. Honestly I haven't opened it up all the way cuz i'm afraid the incredible amount of glide will take this into another realm. It does fly DEAD straight with a nice finish. The hype is real. Get one

Bought this disc for my friend who is mostly a fh player. The explorer has worked great for his fh and he has even started to throw bh with it. The explorer is a straight flyer with minimal fade that can be thrown fh and bh. Its good for begginers and advanced players alike. The opto plastic has been a bit more os than the numbers suggest however this is probably due to his arm speed. Great disc!

Bought an opto explorer and an instinct when I lost my 11x teebird, figured I'd try something new, and I'm glad I did. I love the explorer. Flies like a seasoned teebird. If I throw it normal it'll fade a bit and if I power up on it it flies dead straight. Flies good even in windy conditions

As far as the profile of this disc, it has a smaller rim, as it is only a 7 speed fairway driver. However, the ones that I have seen and thrown have a decent dome to them. They feel very comfortable in the hand. Because of the dome of the disc, it feels a little faster than a 7 speed.

As for the flight, this is a great disc, especially once you work it in a bit. I use this for shots within 325-350. The name of the game for this disc is control. This disc will hold a turnover, hyzer, or go dead straight if you want it to. For beginners, this might be a bit overstable out of the box, but as stated previously, once you beat it in a little, it will hold whatever angle you want. I do not use this disc a lot for forehand shots, but when I do, this disc is good for those dead straight shots that you just need a little fade out of. I use this disc mostly in the woods where I need to shape shots or just get that dead straight flight. This is probably the most controllable and predictable disc in my bag. I would recommend it to anybody who is looking for a controllable fairway driver.

My absolute go-to driver! This disc will hold whatever line you put it on with a small but dependable fade. This rim is very comfortable for my forehand and backhand. I throw this disc about 280' on both forehand and backhand, on the backhand I get almost no flip and a slight fade and on forehand, I get a bit of turn with slight fade as well... For being listed as what most people would call overstable, it lands rather soft in my opinion, don't get me wrong, it still skips but not as far as I was expecting! I think that everyone that has decent form and range should try this disc, it has definitely changed my game and I always make sure I have 2-3 backups in my car! Haven't tried the opto-x but I see that disc making it into my favorite forehand disc in the near future!

I was so excited to try this out. On my first hole with this disc it disappeared spent some time looking for it but never found it. In the open field during a warm up it was doing great with good distance and a nice release. It also felt comfortable in the hand but non the less it is lost to the woods.

This is my favorite fairway driver. I bag 2-3 and use it for a majority of my shots. I like how this disc will do exactly what you want, a straight flyer, it will turnover and hold the anhyzer, or put on a hyzer will keep the line with a soft fade. Overall a great disc for beginners and advanced players.

My most-purchased disc--I do hope I stop losing my Explorers, but even if I do, I'll keep buying them. I can get it out to about 330 feet before it starts fading with a nice hop at the end. It's nearly impossible to turnover unless you've got a pretty serious arm. But for me, I can count on it to take a pretty hefty throw and always finish left. They straighten out (as all discs do) as they get beat in, however, it maintains its consistency even as its flight gradually changes. It's a great disc, and it earns my trust immediately every time. My Opto Explorer is my workhorse. You won't be disappointed.

This disc and I got off to a rocky start. It was one of those discs that flies so straight that it really shows off any angle of release mistakes and punishes them pretty badly. If I threw it with just a little too much hyzer, it held the hyzer the entire time instead of flipping just a little bit. If I threw it too flat, it would flip ever so slightly and then glide wide right without ever fading back. The flight numbers deceived me too as I always expected a stronger fade than what it actually has.

Eventually I stopped throwing the disc the way I should it should be thrown and started throwing it the way it needed to be thrown. I haven't taken it out of my bag since. My opto has just the barest hint of turn with more of a stall at the end of it's flight than any true fade. I am currently bagging 3. 2 Opto and 1 Opto X. The opto X is significantly more stable than the normal optos, as well as being board flat on top. It's really nice getting multiple flight lines out of a single mold.

The Explorer has a nice reliable flight that I am able to keep low and away from hanging branches on wooded holes. I do not have tons of arm strength, but if I go for power it has a little bit of turn to it before coming back. "Normal" throws result in a straight flight with just a little fade. The Explorer can do many different things well and is not just in the bag for a single purpose.

Excellent fairway driver for pretty much all shot shapes. Fairly stable to begin with but beats up into a disc that can hold any angle for seemingly forever. My go-to driver for almost every tee shot on long woods courses. And it flies very nearly as far as some 12+ speed drivers I have in my bag.

Once you develop some arm speed, I think this is a great disc. It flies nice and straight and has great glide until the end where it will slowly fade out. If you power this disc down a little, it makes for a decent utility disc where needing some harder fade comes in handy (if you don’t already own something like a Firebird, which, if you’re a beginner, you probably don’t but should). I gave it four stars because my Leopard3 is my go-to (and gets better distance) and my Firebird is a better utility disc all around.

This is a very straight fairway driver that is more forgiving than other fairway drivers. It allows a larger margin of error with minimal punishment. I would give it the same speed as a high speed midrange.

The Explorer is my go-to fairway driver. The Opto plastic and the rim profile feel great in my hand. I use it off the tee on touchy par 3's where I need a nice straight start with lots of glide and then a subtle hyzer finish. It does what I want pretty much every time. If I just so happen to make a mistake and throw it a little too hard, it never flips over on me and will just go more straight before finishing back left. The Explorer is very forgiving in that sense. That extra glide I get from it is why I give it a 6 glide rather than a 5. it just SOARS. I also like to use it on little forehand upshots over 100 ft. It sits quite nicely and doesn't skip too much on those forehand shots. I've almost had 3 aces with this disc: One almost skipped in to the basket on a 265 ft par 3, the other 2 hit chains on a short 212 ft par 3 that needed a rainbow hyzer about 70 ft high around a grouping of trees. With the Explorer, one of those will go in soon!

It's basically a Teebird. Great feel in hand, glidey, but fights wind. Soft and controlable fade, but can handle power. This is one of those simple discs. You can throw it far and straight, yet hard.

I love it FH on like 50% power for 300 ft straight forehand shots as well.

If you want a Teebird alternative, this is the best one in my opinion!

It is exactly what it is supposed to be- a stable fairway with good glide. It is good for forehands and backhands. Workhorse. It is a consistent mold with a consistent dome shape. It has consistent flights in different wind conditions.

Update. I have moved this down one star b/c the concave rim feels less comfortable to me now that I have experience with more brands and molds.

I've been cycling through more discs than I'd like to admit lately, but I have to say this is probably my favorite one. This disc comes through with great shots time and time again. I go the opto plastic and it felt great in my hands. I had a Teebird3 before, but this one feels more sturdy in my hands. I only carry 4-5 discs, and this one has locked down the fairway driver slot.

New favorite fairway driver here. This disc feels identical to a Teebird, it's just a touch less stable and has a touch more glide. I can rip on this at full power and it still goes straight city, whereas my other favorite fairway (FD) always runs the risk of turning a bit. I'm amazed at how far the Explorer travels. More often than not I use it for control and hitting a gap rather than distance, but it so often ends up pin high on shots I didn't intend for. It handles moderate headwind fine, in anything more than a 15 mph wind it will turn. The fade is very reliable, so it will come back. Profile wise, I wish these were flatter for sidearm. It's not super domey by any stretch, but it does have a bit of dome. Feels great backhand, just a bit weird sidearm.
