Union Graduate short bed bowl turning lathe. Refurbished with extensive modifications, including:

1.1Kw(1.5HP) 3 phase motor with 1.1Kw quality Omron VFD (mounted in metal cabinet with isolator switch and remote control console).

The machine is mounted on an "H"-type base frame (fabricated from 4" x 2" channel and box section in order to raise the spindle to a comfortable working height) with adjustable feet and a vertical RHS support to eliminate vibration.

The crucifix bed has been dropped 4.1/2" to increase the swing from 20" to 29" over bed. Consequently both "swan neck's" have their tool rest and tailstock supports raised by 4.1/2" to compensate. The turning rest has a swivel feature which  is very useful when roughing down blanks as it avoids the need for constantly adjusting the swan neck.

Equipment includes an 8" inboard faceplate, 12" outboard aluminium sanding plate, 7" toolrest and spindle spanner.

Note: There is a small chip on the motor pulley which does not affect performance in any way.
