Vintage Whale Brooch Stamped E. Pearl (Edwin Pearl) Gold Tone Pin with Blue and Clear Rhinestone on Tips of Blow Hole Water Vintage Jewelry

*Description: This is a gold tone whale brooch designed and stamped by E. (Edwin) Pearl. This brooch is a smooth gold tone upper body on the whale with textured lines around the bottom of the whales body and tail. The whale has water blowing out of its blow hole on the top, and at the end of each stream of gold tone, water is a prong set rhinestone of clear or blue. I tested each of the clear rhinestones for diamonds as they were full of sparkle and through this testing I found that two of the rhinestones were missing and only the foil backing remained, still giving off sparkling light. The blue rhinestones are a medium blue and very pretty.

*Note: I found through research on this brooch that Edwin Pearl made another brooch with this same mold as this one that is made of 18 KG and has diamonds and sapphires. At first glance, you might think this was that brooch, but a major difference is that the whale brooch with diamonds is a brushed gold with a smooth back (also marked E. Pearl and 18K), whereas this brooch is smooth front with a textured back and no marking of 18KG.

Length and width - 2 inches

*Condition: Great vintage condition. Will see wear under magnification due to age. Two blue rhinestones are missing, which I did not see, thinking they were clear, until I was photographing and noticed the clear was actually silver foil on the bottom of the rhinestone setting.

The whale brooch is very reflective and is a solid gold tone, but you can see my camera and myself in the reflection; it's not actually a part of the brooch.
