The legend of the Minotaur dates back to Ancient Greece. The daughter of the sun god, Pasiphaë, gave birth to the terrible monster known as The Minotaur. The Minotaur had the head of a bull on the body of a man and was bestowed its name to disgrace her husband, King Minos. The monster was born as punishment for King Minos’ defiance against Poseidon’s order to sacrifice the snow-white bull he gifted them. So, Poseidon cursed Pasiphaë to fall in love with the bull. After the Minotaur was born, it was immediately shut away in the labyrinth because it was a disgrace and horrifically bloodthirsty. Every year, seven Athenian youths were sacrificed to the Minotaur. Eventually, a man named Theseus volunteered to fight it. To help him, his love, Ariadne, daughter of Pasiphaë and Minos, gave him a red ball of yarn. This way he could find his way out of the labyrinth after killing the Minotaur. Therefore, this Silver Minotaur coin has a red ball inside! Can you find your way out?
