This fine Dutch silver antique tea caddy has a navette shaped form.
The surface of this antique Dutch silver tea caddy is embellished with embossed panels depicting figures at leisure in rural settings.
Each panel is ornamented with a scroll and floral border accented with stylised leaf and figural masks to the centre top.
The lower portion of the body and rim of the cover are further embellished with a swag decorated border accented with a stylised floral motif.
The surface of the concaved hinged cover is ornamented with an embossed scene depicting a figure on a horse situated in a grassed area before a village.
The cover is surmounted by an impressive panelled drop shaped silver finial.
ConditionThis antique silver tea caddy is a very good gauge of silver, fine quality and in excellent presentation condition.
Full hallmarks struck to the underside of the tea caddy are all very clear.
