The observance of National Police Remembrance Day grants police the opportunity to commemorate their fallen colleagues and ensure their legacies are preserved. This date honours the dedicated police officers who in the line of duty have died serving their community and it also allows police and the community to pay their respects to police employees who have lost their lives over the last 12 months through illness or other circumstances.
