Vintage 1930s - 1950s Super Dux 100% wool red and black plaid hunting pants. "Waterproofed Sport Clothing" made in Detroit, Michigan.

Super Dux was the hunting line that Carhartt started in the early 30's.

No tags to give the size! Inseam is 25" and the waist is 39".

The wool is thick and strong, and the buttons hold as they should. The top button on the fly doesn't match the other three, not sure if it was replaced or if it came this way. Ties at the bottom of the pant legs. Buttons for suspenders.

Interesting piece of extra wool sewn on the butt for warmth! And there is a tiny little hole in that piece, just saw it now as I was taking pictures.

It is very possible that these have never been dry cleaned! There are bits of leaves in the pockets and the inside of the waist is  dirty and worn. The area around the fly is a little dirty, and there is dirt on the back side  The letters GEF are written in marker inside the pants.

The pants feel...waterproofed, I guess. At first I thought I was feeling the lanolin from the wool. It's that kind of feeling.

I would guess these have been in storage for 50+ years! A true collectors piece.

UPS is also a shipping option, if that is less expensive for you.
