This is an antique metal mesh evening purse previously owned by famed opera singer Maude Wentz McDonald (1872-1944). It is marked “soldered mesh” and is silver in color. I can find no other maker’s marks on it. It measures about 7” long plus fringe and weighs about 2.5 ounces. The hand loop has a 5.75” drop. The clasp is decorated with a small round medium blue gem. Overall, it is in excellent condition however, about .5” along the closure frame has lost its securing spiral. Please see the accompanying photographs for further details.
