In fair condition. Covers and spine have age-related toning and wear that has caused some discoloration, bending, and tearing along the edges. Both clasps are broken, with the bottom clasp almost entirely removed. Pages have age-related toning and foxing. Hinges are worn, and while pages remain attached, the support is not entirely even throughout. Some pencil inscriptions from a previous owner at the beginning of the volume. Ex-library from Messiah College with a checkout card on the back inside cover, the name stamped onto the bottom edges of pages, and the Dewey Decimal number written in white ink on the spine. A German-language hymn book with all of the Psalms of David included for the Evangelical Reformed congregation of the United States, written in fraktur German. A great addition to the personal collection of anyone interested in reading various hymns practiced by German-Americans during the late eighteenth century. Any issues with hinges or binding due to age or wear could provide an excellent opportunity for restoration or rebinding, if desired.
