Large Antique George V Sterling Silver Inkstand - 1912 by Walker & Hall
A large and impressive antique George V sterling silver inkstand hallmarked in Sheffield for 1912 by Walker & Hall. This inkstand is rectangular in shape with a plain body, an attractive pierced gallery with wavy edges and bead borders and resting on four elaborately decorated claw feet. There are two sections to house the cut glass ink bottles and there is a recess in the front to hold the pen. The cutting to the glass ink bottles is particularly fine and detailed and the decoration on the tops of the silver hinged lids is also very appealing. This silver inkstand would be ideal to use on a desk or small table and is both practical and pleasing to the eye.
This silver inkstand remains in excellent condition.
