The LEDs Light Emitting Diodes use a built in resistor encapsulated under the clear resin running is series with the dye chip. The forward voltage is recommended at between 8-12VDC,

but will happily light from about 4VDC.

The led is set out in an identical configuration as a standard led, Long pin (ANODE PIN +)

and shorter pin (CATHODE PIN -).

The flat in the lip of the resin also signifies CATHODE.
