Genuine with makers mark a Heraldic pattern ladel marked number 13. Whiting manufacturing Company produced this ladel 1880.

This is a finely crafted ladle, bordering on a work of art. We feel this item belongs in an elegant home, museum  or any
organization which deserves its elegant beauty.

The item offered for sale is a rare example of the upper quality of serving utensils manufactured by the Whiting Manufacturing
Company. This piece was made in NYC after they moved from Massachusetts after a fire in their New England shop. This item was
part of a collection that was either directly purchased or gifted by Emil Loewenthal in or around 1882. This item has been in our
family and passed down for four generations.

The ladle is made if sterling silver, .925 sterling, with the serving ladle bowl finished in a gold wash.

We have not actively used it for over 75 years and feel the amount of use prior to that was not significant. For whatever reason
the piece is NOT monogrammed which would still be an opportunity for a new buyer.

The piece is quite rare as a sauce ladle.  It has has not been restored or repaired and is is like new condition with minor marks
reflecting over 140 years of existence.

My family has cherished this piece all the years it has been owned. I would like to think that a successful
buyer would have the same thoughts, and be prepared to pass it through many more generations of loving care. I want it to find a
good home, and for it to be passed on for 4 more generations.

Whiting Manufacturing Company was know for a very low volume of product, but production of high quality. Many of the people
of Whiting worked back and forth with Tiffany’s during its days of prominence.

Books have been written of their products and quality, as well as the personnel that worked for them and sometimes Tiffany.
