Vintage Ukrainian Red Black Viburnum Cross Stitched Ethnic Towel Rushnyk 50s

PLEASE LOOK AT THE PICTURE

Good Vintage Condition.

Size 303 cm×36 cm

Made in 1950's

The embroidery is made in the traditional red and black color scheme, but the threads have lost their color over time and the black appears gray. The towel is decorated with handmade lace and viburnum berries are embroidered on it.

Viburnum is a symbol of life, blood, fire. Viburnum also means motherhood: the bush is the mother herself; flower, berries - children. It is the personification of home, parents, and all relatives. Viburnum is a Ukrainian symbol of the timeless unity of the people: the living with those who have gone to the afterlife and those who are still waiting for their birth.

There are some stains and wear on the fabric (Look carefuly at the pictures)
