The cylindrical neck is fitted with a plain sterling silver hallmarked mount with the original hallmarked flat hinged cover.
This antique claret jug is fitted with a plain angular rounded handle with a tapering lower terminal paralleling the shape of the body.
The glass body of this claret jug is encircled with panelled star cut designs in addition to a star cut base.
ConditionThe mount of this antique claret jug is a very good gauge of silver, excellent quality and in excellent presentation condition.
The original glass body is in perfeCt condition.
Full hallmarks struck to the surface of the mount are clear; the date letter has wear and is illegible.
The part hallmarks, consisting of date letter and lion passant, to the interior of the cover are all very clear.
