The Drama is a conception on the twin philosophical themes of Descartes Dream Argument and Spinozas Pantheism. Descartes argues on the possibility that the distinction our senses make for us between our socalled dream moments and our socalled conscious moments may actually be a big hoax. After all, our senses have been found occasionally to be deceptive. Spinoza, on his own part, argues for the possible reality of everything in nature being a part of God. He contrives his argument from the conception of what a Substance is by the Scholastics and, especially, by Descartes. A logical deduction could be made from the two themes thus: our presumed real existence could actually be a hoax in the sense that we could all rather be existing as characters in someone elses subconscious or conscious state. And who could this be? Perhaps, a dreamer, a creative writer, a story teller, or God himself. So, in order to bring out these twin themes, the story begins with Ezebuife returning exhaustedly from his farm only to fall deeply asleep which leads to him having series of dreams in which he thinks he is actually existing for real until he suddenly wakes up from each dream.
