After years that Pioneer sold Exclusive Components only in Japan, they decided to sell the 1986 Super Preamplifier C-7 worldwide. Since no matching amplifiers were developed yet, the mono amplifiers C5a got a "Facelift" to become European C-6. At that time these were among the world's best amplifiers ever.
Despite the enormous power output of 300 watts per channel, the monos worked in pure Class-A - 2-Ohm power peaks were possible up to 1000 watts.
